HAMMER TOES

Hammertoe is a condition in which the toe moves into a claw-like position. This is caused by an imbalance in the pull of the tendons that move the toes. The reason the tendons don’t pull evenly is because of an unstable arch resulting in excessive pronation when walking.

Tight shoes also contribute to the development of hammertoes. Pain develops when the deformed toe rubs inside a shoe when walking. Corns can form which may become inflamed resulting in severe pain. Please contact our office if you are experiencing this problem so that our doctors may help you with pain relief.
