PLANTAR WARTS

Plantar warts are noncancerous skin growths caused by a viral infection in the top layer of the skin. These are cused by a strain of virus called human papillomavirus (HPV). There are many different strains of this virus. The ones that cause common warts on the hands and feet are not the same as the strains that cause genital warts.

These warts are non-malignant and go away in time, usually around two years, without treatment. They can, however, cause irritation and pain depending on location. Plantar warts appear unsightly which is the main reason any self-conscious person may want them removed. Plantar warts are small in nature, however, some may grow bigger on even in clusters.
