INGROWN TOENAILS

Ingrown toenails are a common condition that usually affects the big toe and sometime in smaller toes. These occur when the corner or side of one of your toenails grows into the soft flesh of the toe. This can result in redness, swelling, pain, and in some cases infection. Often times one is able to self treat by cutting out the nail corner. However the ingrown nail will usually grow back. But don’t worry there is a solution.

There is a common surgery to correct ingrown toe nail called a partial matrixectomy. This is a minor surgical procedure performed in the office under local anesthesia which is very successful in preventing the regrowth of an ingrown nail. For those who hate needles Dr. Do has developed an injection technique that is virtually pain less to numb the toe. Once the toe is numb the patient no longer feels pain as surgery is done to correct the ingrown nail problem. Please contact our office so that our doctors can help you with this problem.
